West Ham midfielder Yossi Benayoun faces a late fitness test on his thigh injury, but is rated as doubtful.

Goalkeeper Roy Carroll missed the FA Cup win at Norwich with a similar problem, but has been back in training this week and is expected to return to the side, along with centre-back Anton Ferdinand, who was rested last weekend.

Striker Teddy Sheringham (calf) is still not match fit, while recent signing Yaniv Katan could make his Premiership debut after impressing when coming off the bench at Carrow Road.

Aston Villa are boosted by the return of striker Milan Baros from suspension for the home clash with West Ham.

Gareth Barry is suspended after picking up five bookings and will be replaced at left-back by JLloyd Samuel as Wilfred Bouma is still sidelined by a knee injury.

Eirik Bakke is also set to return having been forced to miss the FA Cup win at Hull due to the terms of his loan deal from Leeds.
