Swansea v West Ham - Moyes Pre-Match Press Conference
Ahead of the crucial away fixture, against Swansea City, David Moyes held his pre-match press conference this morning.
Although, because of the adverse weather conditions, the fixture may be in doubt, Moyes was under no illusion as to the importance of the game, remarking to the assembled media hacks,
'I think ever since I've come in, every game has been a big game. We've picked up some good results, but we've got to be mindful of how well Swansea have done.
'We've got to be mindful going there. We've had some good results away from home though.
'I think there's enough games for all the teams to still stay up. The home games are important to most clubs. There's a lot of draws at the bottom end of the table. If we keep picking up points we will be a Premier League club next season.'
Hopefully that will be the case, but with so many teams nervously looking at that relegation trap-door, fearing for their fate, Moyes further added,
'It's the tightest it's been since I can remember. The bottom of the table is tightening up and the top of the table is getting further away.
'No one can guarantee they are going to be okay. Those newly promoted clubs have made it difficult for other teams. There's a fight on that will go to the end of the season.'
It will and ahead of the game Swansea are on a good run of form, losing just one of their last five games, plus also advancing to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup with a win over Sheffield Wednesday, a game those associated with West Ham would have watched, although talking about the cup game, Moyes further added,
'They left several players out of their team, but they have improved and they have gained confidence.
'They had some incredible results against Arsenal and Liverpool, picking up unexpected points. We're in for a difficult game.'
Yes we are, that`s if West Ham can get to South Wales in these very inclement conditions.
