Hart Admits Hammers Were Awful at Shrewsbury
Having started his career with Shrewsbury Town, Joe Hart, wearing the Hammers armband, would have been pleased with he reception he got from the home side.
However, the keeper wouldn`t have been pleased with the performance those in front of him gave in what was a very poor display, a display so bad we couldn`t have moaned if we`d been knocked out of the FA Cup.
Speaking to the BBC after the game Hart was honest enough to admit that the Hammers got out of jail today, remarking,
'100%. We were terrible today and Shrewsbury were really good.
'It's a tough place to come. We didn't play well. We had three games in a week and there were opportunities for the lads, including myself.
'I can't blame fatigue. There was some terrible football played today and we lost a lot of battles.
'This is where I grew up, my home town. It gave me my opportunity in football. It's very special. It was a nice moment but in the game I wanted to win.'
Honesty is always the best policy.
