Watford v West Ham - Managerial Speak

Watford v West Ham - Managerial Speak

This Sunday afternoon, West Ham make the short trip to Hertfordshire to take on Watford.

It is, of course, the first game of the managerial tenure of David Moyes.

On Friday, both managers held their pre-match press conferences.

David Moyes, hoping to get the Hammers back on track had this to say,

'I'm not one to criticise who was here before, but the players have told me what they think so we will give them what they think they need.

'They need to take responsibility. The players have been really committed to what we've asked them to do, they've grasped it and got on with it, and I think they've embraced it too.

'We've tried to put an awful lot of work into them over the past five or six days.'

Hopefully, that extra work will pay dividends

As for the Watford coach, Marco Silva, he was forced to field questions about his own future, with Everton, seemingly, looking towards the Portuguese coach as their new boss, forcing Silva to remark,

"I look at this situation like for some players when they play well, or somebody that the coach wants from another club.

'For me, now this is a case for the board and the owners to discuss the situation.

'If you want to talk to me about Everton, it's not the club where I work. It is a big club, nothing more.

'I respect what Everton want, I respect how Watford answer. I can't control this situation.'

Here`s looking forward to an interesting encounter at Vicarage Road.
