Oxford Set for Season in Germany
According to reports circulating in the media, West Ham United are set to kick-start the next stage in the long-term development of Reece Oxford.
Oxford, who attracted attention the moment he gave an exemplary display in the first match of the 2015 / 2016 season against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, is set to move to the continent for the season.
The Manchester Evening News is reporting that Oxford is in Germany having talks with the Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach.
Barring any last-minute hitches, Oxford is expected to sign on the dotted line to spend the season with the German side who have a vacancy in the heart of their defence after Andreas Christensen, on loan from Chelsea, completed a two-year stint with them.
However, West Ham United have been quick to stress that Oxford, who is seen as a potential future West Ham United captain, is not for sale and there is no chance of a permanent deal being done.
Hopefully, Reece, still just 18-years-of-age, will get the amount of match time West Ham anticipate he will and that the experience will stand him in good stead for the future.
