Antonio Ruled out for Remainder of the Season

Antonio Ruled out for Remainder of the Season

Following the narrow, but much-needed, win over Swansea City last weekend, the Hammers support were hoping for a positive finish to the 2016 / 2017 season.

Unfortunately, Lady Luck has dealt us another cruel blow.

At his pre-match press conference this morning, ahead of the trip to take on Sunderland this Saturday, Slaven Bilic confirmed that Michail Antonio will not play for the Hammers again this season.

Antonio limped out of the action against Swansea and Bilic had this to say about the player who is, some would say, our outstanding performer this season,

'It's a significant injury and he's out for the season.

'It is a big blow. We know what he has been giving. He is one of our best players."

The news is devastating for Antonio who has had a fine season and has proven to be a valuable acquisition since joining the Hammers from Nottingham Forest back in 2015.

Here at Vital West Ham we wish Michail a speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing him in action next season.
