Is Amalfitano Heading Our Way?

Stumbling through the plethora of sports related pages in a huge heap of Sunday papers, something caught my eye.

It suggests that Sam Allardyce, under orders to spice up West Ham when it comes to more attacking football, could be set to bring Morgan Amalfitano to Upton Park.

The player is currently on the books of the French outfit Marseille but is available on a free transfer.

Last season Amalfitano was on a season long loan deal at West Bromwich Albion where, reportedly, he demonstrated his flair by scoring a great goal against Manchester United.

However, being a little churlish, perhaps we might suggest one great goal does not a player make!

We shall see.
