Rumours are spreading like wildfire on the internet that relate to a failed bid for a Paraguayan striker by West Ham United.

It would appear that the Hammers have been, if reports are correct, the Benfica forward Oscar Cardozo.

Deemed surplus to requirements by his present club, Benfica, it appears that West Ham United had hopes of bringing the player to Upton Park for the sum of €10 million. However, the word coming from the player is that whilst he has accepted he`ll be on the move and with the fee being agreeable to Benfica, Cardozo has no inclination whatsoever when it comes to becoming a West Ham United player.

Like the title says…………….some you win and some you lose!
