Welcome Home Teddy

Tasked with bringing a striking coach to Upton Park, it appears that the chase has now been satisfied.

Rumours had linked 48 year-old former Hammer Teddy Sheringham to the role and yesterday Teddy confirmed that he had indeed accepted the challenge to try and sharpen up a West Ham side that only managed to hit the back of the net 40 times in 38 Premier League games last season.

Talking about his new role, Teddy has remarked to the media,

"Sam phoned me a week or so ago and asked me if I fancied it."

"Being a West Ham boy and coming from the area, it fits nicely in all that I`m about."

"Having played as a striker, Sam wants me to add something along those lines. Anything that I can do to help I`m very willing to do."

Welcome aboard Teddy Sheringham!
