Carroll`s Hope

Carroll`s Hope

Roy Hodgson may well have been down at St Mary`s Stadium watching the Southampton duo of Rickie Lambert and Jay Rodriguez, but one would hope he saw Andy Carroll`s towering header in our 3-1 defeat against Stoke.

Carroll, slowly getting back to full match fitness, after his spell on the side-lines, still harbours ambitions of making the England World Cup squad remarking to the media following the loss at the Britannia Stadium,

"Of course Brazil is still on my mind."

"But I need to start scoring goals here and help West Ham to start winning before that can come."

It would kind of help if Andy could rattle in a few more goals but Andy gets a glowing reference from Sa Allardyce with regard so this aerial ability with Sam remarking,

"Andy is one of the best headers of the ball you will find. He causes the opposition problems."

He certainly does and like so many people are saying, Carroll would be the perfect Plan B for England when things are not going to plan!
