Newcastle (h) - Stat Attack

As we prepare to face Newcastle United in a Premier League fixture of paramount importance, we`ve been delving through a plethora of information to bring you a few statistics.

So here goes, enjoy.

1 - Last season, it would appear that West Ham United were the only side to keep a clean sheet, home and away, against Newcastle.

2 - Strangely enough, despite our defensive woes, we managed to keep a clean sheet against them in the early season fixture back in August.

3 - Despite this apparent reluctance to get on the score-sheet, against us, in recent meetings, Newcastle arrive at Upton Park actually having lost only 1 of their last 7 fixtures here.

4 - The very welcomed 2-0 win against Cardiff City last weekend was our first win in 8 Premier League games, it was also only the 6th time this season we`d scored more than one goal in a game in the Premier League.

5 - Sticking with clean sheets, no innuendo`s at the back please, the one achieved against Cardiff was our 9thof the season, which is the joint highest in the Premier League, strange when you consider our poor league position.

6 - Newcastle arrive at Upton Park having lost their last 3 matches which is in stark contrast to the previous 9 where they`d only lost 1.

7 - On the road, in the Premier League, this season Newcastle have yet to draw a game. Their 10 fixtures have heralded 5 wins and 5 losses.

Come on you Irons!
