Maiga - Putting in a Shift

Our Mali international, Modibo Maiga, looks likely to start in our fixture against Crystal Palace tonight.

Maiga, who has been mocked by some West Ham supporters over his lack of goals for our club, is the sort of player that does his best, although his ungainly methods may make him a little awkward.

However against Fulham, last Saturday before he was substituted in favour of Carlton Cole, Maiga put in a decent shift prompting Sam Allardyce to remark,

"He hasn`t scored a goal and that`s what the fans see. But he was very good on Saturday. They are intelligent enough to have seen that."

Our take on the subject is that once he gets on the score-sheet, possibly tonight, his confidence will soar!
