Olympic Stadium Move Sanctioned

News broke, late yesterday / early this morning, that West Ham United have been granted tenure of the Olympic Stadium, in Stratford.

Apparently, a deal has been done whereby we`ll lease the stadium for ninety-nine years with a view to moving in ahead of the 2016 season.

The stadium cost £429 million to build and it is anticipated that it will need another £200 million to convert it into a suitable facility for football, via the addition of retractable seats over the athletics track.

However, it appears that something called a anti-embarrassment clause has been inserted into the lease whereby West Ham`s owners are required to hand over a percentage of their profit if they sell the club and pre-funded stadium within a certain time-frame.

Naturally, we expect their to be some kind of protest from the Leyton Orient owner, Barry Hearn, relating to his club being crushed and we wouldn`t be too surprised if the result is that we end up ground sharing with the quaint little club.

All in all we reckon exciting times lie ahead.

Your dodgy owners will be more than happy to hand over a small percentage of their profit when they sell your club. The embarrissing thing with this scam is that the taxpayers and Newham County will pay for it all. As for Leyton Orient, I really feel for them.
