Away Fans - Members Only Club?

Away Fans - Members Only Club?

A trip to Stamford Bridge has a history of being a feisty affair for Hammers supporters, but the mark was over-stepped on Sunday.

As well as having two West Ham supporters arrested for racially aggravated offences, coins were also thrown at two Chelsea players, John Terry and Frank Lampard, fortunately neither suffered a serious injury.

But, with the Metropolitan Police now actively looking for the culprits, via CCTV footage taken inside Stamford Bridge, it is being suggested that West Ham are to modify the manner in which ticket sales for away games are handled, introducing something akin to an away-day club

A club insider, quoted in the red-top press, has reportedly remarked,

"An away-day club would log names and addresses of those who buy tickets to travel and match them to their seats."

"If only members were allowed to buy tickets for away games then it could make it a lot easier to find the idiots who misbehave."

Once again the actions of the minority will affect the law-abiding majority!
