Defender Signs

The first attempt at trying to shore up our often suspect defence has occurred.

It is being reported that West Ham United have signed the ex-Middlesbrough defender, Emanuel Pogatetz from Wolfsburg.

The defender, now thirty years of age, appears to be excited about his return to the Premier League, commenting,

"I am very excited about playing for West Ham. I hope I can play a part in the club achieving its targets this season."

Pogatetz, so the club inform us, will wear the #18 shirt.

Let`s hope spells with Hannover and Wolfsburg haven`t blunted that competitive edge needed in the Premier League!

what ever happened to the sweet flowing football that was once your trademark? I like Big Sam in respect that he gets results, however he seems to be taking your club that has always prided itself on playing the right football, even at the cost of success in a totally different direction with this type of signing. as fans, are you happy to accept a more industrial brand of football to maintain Prem status or do you still put style over success?
