The Crazy Season!
Now forgive me if I`ve grasped the wrong end of the stick, but did I really read that Carlton Cole could be moving to a Turkish club for a fee of less than £2 million?
If so, I have to ask - has someone lost their marbles?
Down at Upon Park, we have Andy Carroll on loan (but seemingly always crocked and wit a goal return of one), Marouane Chamakh on loan (but not even popular with the owners son) and…………………………Carlton Cole. Apart for that, there`s little else to fall back on.
Now we understand that Carlton`s contract is up in the summer and that the club don`t want to lose him for nothing, but surely the fee quoted is a great giveaway.
If we don`t take up the option on Carroll and if we don`t decide Chamakh is the man for us and Cole goes this month, we`ll be looking for several new strikers come this summer, a task that could prove to be very expensive don`t you think!
