It`s something we`ve mentioned on more than one occasion during the last couple of weeks, namely the return of the prodigal son - Joe Cole.
To be brutally honest, I was of the opinion that it was all a little pie-in-the-sky and that there were too many obstacles with regards to bringing Joe back to Upton Park.
How wrong could I have been!
News broke, yesterday evening, inferring that Joe was at Upton Park undergoing a medical after some sort of financial deal had been done with Liverpool whereby a proportion of his current deal was paid off with West Ham obtaining Joe on a free transfer but having to take on the remainder of his contract.
Now I`m not going to pontificate on the ins and outs of the financial deal, instead I`m just going to sit back and wait for Joe to run out, in our famous claret and blue shirt again, hoping that a return to his first stamping ground can bring back that rich vein of skill we all know he possesses.
Having signed on the dotted line for the second time, ignoring the advances of Queens Park Rangers and Harry Redknapp, we`re hopeful that Joe will make his second Hammers debut, this weekend, when Manchester united visit in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. The occasion just gets bigger by the minute doesn`t it!
