'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Has Sam Allardyce won over the Hammers faithful?

I believe so.

If you take a look at the Championship, you`ll see that the three teams relegated from the Premier League last season (Wolves, Blackburn and Bolton) are all struggling, that could so easily have been us if we didn`t turn to a manager who knew what it took to get us back in the Premier League and not languish in the Championship for longer than the one season.

Now we`ve consolidated in the Premier League and looking to move on. Speaking on BBC`s Football Focus, David Gold had this to say about the gaffer,

'We're very lucky to have him. Their loss (Blackburn) is our gain and we're pleased with Sam. There was a concern with some West Ham fans at first who thought he was a long ball man. But he has proved them all wrong. If you had asked me at the start of season I'd have taken where we are in the table. Sam would like to bring in another 20 players. We've had injuries but we are beginning to see a number of players return. I'm sure we'll be bringing in some additions (in January).

It just remains to see who!
