'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Appeal to be Launched!

The sending off of Carlton Cole was a harsh decision.

Cole may have caught Baines but there was no intent as Cole was focussing on the ball and didn`t even see Baines coming.

After the game Big Sam bemoaned the fact the decision had a huge influence on the game remarking in his post-match interview,

'It's not right. It's hard a massive effect and we lose Carlton Cole but we will appeal immediately and hopefully they will see the sense and knock it down to a yellow.

'I don't mind losing but not on a refereeing decision.'

With Andy Carroll on the injured list, Big Sam will be hoping the authorities view the appeal with a degree of leniency.
