I`d imagine the transfer window can`t come quick enough for Sam Allardyce.
Yesterday, up at the Hawthorns, our injury situation was so bad Big Sam could only name six substitutes.
After the game, when pressed on the possibility of Big Sam being active in the January transfer window, Sam gave an insight into the problems he currently faces, commenting to the media,
"We always need a bit of help. We`re never going to turn one down are we? Or two?"
"If there`s anybody there who can enhance the team then we`d like to go for them."
"Whether that`s short-term, long term, it depends when the window opens and who is actually available and who we can get to come in."
"But the main priority is for us to get the injured players back."
"Look at how many we`re missing Yossi Benayoun, Andy Carroll, Vaz Te, Jack Collison, Mo Diame all flair players."
"They are players who, in possession, can create lots and lots of problems."
"You could probably say seven injuries because we haven`t seen Alou Diarra since he joined us, because he tore a thigh muscle."
My fear is that with so many injuries, and wit the odd suspension or two maybe kicking in, unless Big Sam gets his wish and a couple of players are brought in during the window, our good start could all mean nothing as we get sucked down the table!
