Cole`s Pledge

Kudos to Carlton Cole for continuing to pledge allegiance to the club!

With Andy Carroll now on the books and with Carlton relegated to the bench, there may have been a case for the striker to simply fade into the background and move away come the opening of the January transfer window.

But, Carlton is determined to battle on and serve the club whilst also ensuring his game progresses, or as Carlton puts it in a lively interview, extracts of which appear in the media this morning,

"I don`t want to leave. I`ve told the board that I want to stay for the rest of my career. I want to stay and help out the club anyway I can."

"Because Andy Carroll is here, it doesn`t mean I am going to go."

"I`ve never been one to lie down. Andy`s a great player."

"I see it as good competition having him here."

"It will be good for the club and for me because it makes me up my game and set the goals higher."

"By the end of the season you will see a different me and a different team as we`ll be working well together."

Now that`s the kind of spirit we all have to admire, do we not.
