'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A Quick Turnaround!

It`s amazing how quick things can change around.

After eight games we`re sitting comfortably in the upper half of the Premier League, in many ways an ideal start.

But, as for our opponents on Saturday, Southampton, it is a real tale of woe with the Saints struggling near the foot of the garden.

Last season, I don`t mind admitting that Southampton were the class act in the Championship, something acknowledged by Sam Allardyce, who after the dramatic second half against Nigel Adkins side, remarked in his post match interview with the media,

"We couldn`t get anywhere near Southampton last year, we couldn`t get level with them, we couldn`t get above them, we couldn`t beat them."

"They deserved to do back-to-back promotions but second half, the difference between us and them shows how far we`ve come."

I reckon Big Sam deserves some praise for some astute work in the transfer market that have seen us overhaul a side that, to be honest, were better than us last term.
