Show No Mercy

Let it never be forgotten that it was down to Southampton that we were forced to go through the agony of the play-off final to regain our place in the Premier League.

This Saturday we welcome Southampton to Upton Park for a Premier League game and we have the perfect opportunity to exact some kind of revenge.

Unlike ourselves, Southampton have not adapted to life in the Premier League as they might have hoped to and they are among the early season favourites to be relegated.

Big Sam has, with the game fast approaching, issued a rallying call urging his troops to show no mercy when the opportunity arises this weekend, commenting in the tabloid media,

"It`s almost a six-pointer this early in the season."

"Southampton have not had the best of starts, with some difficult games, and have been conceding a number of goals."

"We`ve got to try to take advantage of that."

"Our fans intimidate the opposition and it is hugely supportive for us. That can help to give us extra drive to get the positive result."

I`d say that nothing less than a comfortable win would suffice, how about you?
