Caution Over Carroll Return

The familiar pony-tail gave the game away, during the warm-up the squad undertook that Andy Carroll was back on the scene.

Making an appearance in the eighteen slightly ahead of his anticipated comeback date, the on-loan striker came on as a late substitute to signal that his hamstring worries were all but over.

During his brief appearance, his physique helped to assist the defence on a number of occasions as Queens Park Rangers pushed for an equalizer.

However, with England short of strikers and with two World Cup qualifiers looming fast on the horizon, Sam Allardyce is a little concerned that Andy may be called up for international duty, when in reality he`s still short of match-fitness, something Big Sam mentioned in his post match thoughts, remarking,

"Andy`s woefully short of match practice - I/m sure Roy will deal with that in the right way."

I`d like to think so otherwise we could find Andy on the sidelines again.
