A prominent figure backs the proposed move!
Opinion may be varied over the proposed move from Upton Park to the Olympic Stadium, but a Hammer`s legend has stepped forward and inferred that it is a necessity that the club does make the move.
Geoff Hurst, still the only player to score a hat-trick in a World Cup Final (1966), has remarked to the media,
"Nobody`s got a greater feeling about West Ham United at Upton Park than I have."
"But we have to move on. We want to be in a bigger stadium, we want to be a top Premier League club. It`s just up the road, it`s the future."
It might well be but as someone who has a reluctance to accept change, and someone who still yearns for the old days and the terraces that disappeared in the Taylor revolution, I worry about the enormity of the Olympic Stadium and our capability to fill it.
