Beckham For Hammers?

Beckham For Hammers?

Alan Pardew says he wants to sign a 'world-class player' who will put the club at financial risk!

The Hammers boss plans to enhance that reputation by splashing his £15million transfer kitty on at least four players over the summer. But he wants a 'David Beckham type' player.

Pardew: 'Some of these world-class players are so financially secure that you think maybe the challenge of coming to West Ham would be greater for them.

'That is what I want. I don't want to tap into a player who we have to put ourselves at financial risk for.

'I want to tap into a world-class player who fancies the challenge of coming and inspiring some young players and taking us to another level. That is something completely different.

'We are not going into the UEFA Cup for the experience and to come out saying 'well, that was fun'. We are in it to win it,' declared Pardew.

'A lot of European teams would not fancy drawing us.'

I have a sneaky suspicion Beckham might end up at Chelsea this summer. It would be a marketing dream for Chelsea, Beckham and Adidas - even if he wasn't first choice.

Well, Becks is a london boy. And if he came back to W.H. he'd be a big star in a small club, as opposed to another player in a star studded team at chelsea (an analogy hammers, not meant to be disparaging), and he doesn't exactly need the money.
