Chip Off The Old Block
West Ham striker Teddy Sheringham is hoping his son can carry on where he leaves off once he finally hangs up his boots.
Sheringham: 'He is 18 next month so it's a big birthday for him. He is on trial at Crystal Palace at the moment so hopefully something will work out there.
'I'm hoping I can play against him at some stage. He is very similar to me but he's a young lad who is trying to find his game and understand the ways of football.
'It's a tough journey for any young player. I help him in any way I can and I can see what he is trying to do so there is no better advisor.
'There were times when I thought I was not going to make it. There are always different times in your career when you think 'that's as far as I'm going to go' but you dig deep, go again and see where it takes you.
'Charlie has met all the West Ham players and been out with them and they have all got their own stories. They have all been released by someone somewhere along the line. It is how you react to that.'
