West Ham Confirm New Deal for Carlton Cole

West Ham Confirm New Deal for Carlton Cole

Carlton Cole has today signed a five-year deal with the club. Amidst much doom-mongering of players leaving in January, it is positive news to see the club moving to secure one of its better performers.

Cole told the offcial site:
"It is good that I have got this opportunity to show West Ham supporters, and prove to myself, that I can be a big part of the prospects to come. We are playing some good football, the results are starting to turn in our favour and the only way is up from now. Hopefully the manager can get the team where he wants us to be and I reckon we will do really well."

Cole's work-rate cannot be doubted, and is a valuable asset to the team. His goal ratio can be improved upon, but this is without doubt a positive move from the club.

Good move. Zola's obvious confidence is Cole might just be the making of him.
