Bowyer to Birmingham?

Bowyer to Birmingham?

Rumours are abound that the first player to leave Upton Park in January will be Lee Bowyer. Bowyer has been getting some minutes on the pitch in recent weeks, but even with a number of injuries in the centre of the park he has not been first choice.

The rumour is that he will be heading to Championship high-flyers Birmingham City for £750k.

Bowyer is a decent squad player, but we know Zola is going to have a clear-out, and with youngsters like Collison beginning to show their worth Bowyer may be surplus to requirements.

Can't see that waste of space being a big loss to you.

Yes, why would a championship club want an experienced premier league midfielder?

Good player on his day, I wouldn't like to see him leave.

I don't think Bowyer adds anything to the Hammers. And with some good young players pushing for first team places he probably is surplus to requirements. Birmingham is more his sort of side, where midfielders are there to spoil it for the opposition rather than create things.

He's yet to shine really. Probably on a sizeable wage nonetheless. Bye bye.
